I’m Worth Remick, Councilmember for District 6 in Virginia Beach. As a longtime Virginia Beach resident, parent, coach, and volunteer, being of service to others and my community has always been a part of who I am and how I have lived my life.

Born and raised in Suffolk and Smithfield, Virginia, I graduated from Hampden-Sydney College with a degree in humanities. As a four-year tennis athlete, I was All-ODAC for three years and attained national rankings in Division III tennis. I moved to Virginia Beach in 1985 when I began my commercial real estate career. I served as a legislative aide in the Virginia State Senate in the 1984 Virginia General Assembly and was a fellow at the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership at UVA. I am in my 40th year as a Realtor at Colliers International and advise businesses and owners on their industrial real estate needs.

I have volunteered for several community organizations and boards throughout my career, including South Hampton Roads Habitat for Humanity, the Green Run Collegiate Foundation Board, the Virginia Beach Forum and various leadership roles at my church, Eastern Shore Chapel Episcopal Church.

From 2000 to 2006, I was the head tennis coach for both boys' and girls' teams at Frank W. Cox High School. I previously served on the Virginia Beach Community Development Corporation Board and currently serve on the Virginia African American Cultural Center Board. I enjoy spending time with my wife, Mary Gentry, two stepdaughters, as well as family and friends in Virginia Beach.

Since my election to Virginia Beach City Council in 2022, I have been appointed to the Advertising Advisory Committee, Hampton Roads Planning District Commission, and the Oceana Land Use Conformity Committee.

I currently serve as the City Council liaison to:

  • The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA)

  • The ViBe Creative District

  • The Resort Advisory Commission

  • The Flood Prevention Bond Referendum Oversight Board

  • The Old Beach Design Review Committee
